Shooting Star is a one of a kind hand embellished reproduction using our raised “Molten Metals” process

I wanted to incorporate the two most familiar license plate colors into this landscape as well as the Zia symbol

It is embellished with raised gold metal around the sun and this reproduction comes in 2 different sizes

The bottom has been washed over with several metallic paints in a strie' manner

I then added a splash of patina blue using acid oxidized copper paint that outlines the shape of the heart

On the original the sky was created using imitation silver leaf for the background. The clouds were then rendered using acid oxidized copper paint to make it patina. I knew from previous work that when I use the acid over the metal leaf it will burn through it in places, so I painted the background black before apply the metal leaf and that gives it an antique mirror
