At a show in August, someone spent 27 and found a rare football card in a pack which sold at auction for 67,000
But its not just about the cards themselves
It remains legal to own but has no Scryfall entry
We dont have to make Universes Beyond cards that are simple - we just have to pick moments that are recognizable, and theyll be easy for fans to understand. As for how exactly they translate those moments and the world around them into a Magic set, Head Designer Mark Rosewater tells me Magics color pie is robust enough that we have the ability to show heroism and villainy in all five colors. As an example, Rosewater says Spider-Man would be white, blue, and green (although the specific version in the Scene Box above is only those first two)
As always, the disclaimer: Im aggressively casual and all of my assertions in this list likely will not consider the competitive side of the format or super pushed cards like Omnath or Kinnan
The Umbreon VMAX itself has an impressive 310 HP, so its a pretty good card to have on your side
